A link to see a trailer for this movie is at the end of the post.
When I saw the preview for this I cringed. I'm a HUGE Jurassic Park fan. I've seen them all, read them all and even want it to be an archeologist one day so I could find and collect them all. Having said that, I can honestly say that part two of the series was not the best movie out there. Dino running loose in the wilderness = Awesome, but Dino running wild in the city = Meh.
This movie in the previews gives you exactly that, dinosaurs roam the city, climb stars and rooftops, giving me flashbacks to The Lost World. Not again.
Flash forward to today:
My boyfriend is just as big of a Jurassic Park fan as I am, when we discussed what movie to see, first thing he said was "Jurassic World". "Ok, great. I'd definitely like to see that" was my reply while I internally rolled my eyes, I really wasn't trying to see this movie and ruin all of the series for myself, but as love tends to do and it does this a lot with me, I put my fears aside and risked it all for my tiger. I braced myself, snuggled and got to watching.
The movie starts off in the wild. The island where they had the dinosaurs in Jurassic World has a problem, an active volcano that is going to kill off all of them unless humans step in and help. The idea they have come up with is to transport the animals off of the island and to safe ground. Piece of cake, right? They enlist the help of both of the main characters from Jurassic World to do this and a few new faces. Jeff Goldbum is also back for this movie.
I won't go farther into the plot than that, but I have to say that the movie seriously surprised me. It was nothing like The Lost World. We saw quite a few homage moments to the original movie which die hard JP fans will enjoy and honestly it turned out to be very entertaining. The graphics are great and the plot is believable. There was no bad taste left in my mouth from it like I expected. I'm really glad I saw it and would recommend it. After the movie ended I realized how great it was that my boyfriend gave me the little push I needed to see this movie, we both ended up really liking it and happy. You can't ask for more than that.
